a) Fishmeal A high percentage of the dry
powder is made up from fishmeal ingredients
such as capelin, herring meal, tuna meal, etc.
Mixed With milk powders and such like, this
is very nutritious to the carp and has been very
successful in the last couple of years.
b) Birdseed Here a high percentage of the
bait comprises birdseed ingredients such as
robin red, or sluice, etc. These, too, are very
attractive to carp and can be very successful.
c) High protein in this mix the dry powder
has a very high protein rating and tends to be
of very good-quality milk powders. If you
believe that carp will pick out the best food
to feed on this should be the best bait.
However, its price and the fact that the carp will
eat most food items tend to cast doubt on
that theory.
d) Low protein Here the dry powder is of a
cheaper nature with not as high a proteinlevel.

Ingredients such as semolina and soya
powder on their own may not be overly
attractive to carp but, when mixed with good
flavours, many anglers do catch a lot of good
fish on them.
c) Mixed baits This is where you combine
two types of base mix to get a combination
bait. You could cross fishmeal and bird sced,
or protein and bird seed, or whatever, to give
the carp the best of both worlds. Again, these
types have been very successful.
|
