In the United States, carp are largely considered to ugly, slimy and unworthy of an angler's efforts. In England, they're a revered game fish.

Recently, in a quiet corner of upstate New York, carp enthusiasts from both sides of the Atlantic staged a tournament and introduced stateside philistines to the joys of fishing for these bottom-feeding brutes.

North Country Public Radio's David Sommerstein reports from the banks of the St. Lawrence River:

的东西。而在英国，它们被奉为游戏竞技的鱼种。

最近，在纽约州的一个安静的角落，从大西洋两岸来的鲤鱼垂钓爱好者们聚集在一起，
举办了一个锦标赛，把钓这种底食性畜生（编者按：此处“畜生”即指鲤鱼）的乐趣介绍给
了美国国内的土鳖（或为“普通”）老百姓们。

I don't like bass and Chiense Carps are very good for fishing because they are clever!
