I was in Astana, Kazakhstan before coming to Beijing. I have seen Kazakhs making the fishing really entertaining, by doing barbecues, drinking, dancing, etc. whole nights at Ishim river banks. I am sure there would be many activities in Beijing as well. There were many people gathered at Gaobadian reservoir yesterday (Saturday and Sunday, both), and there were reports of medium size carps being hit at the reservoir. So why don’t someone initiate a small tournament or activity at Gaobadian. Just a suggestion. I don’t have many contacts in Beijing at the moment. Just floating the idea here. Senior members can guide further.

I have been in Kazakhstan for 3 years. There are many wonderful site for fishing, and Lure is very popular there. щука, окон, судак are very good target fish，few pepole like catching karas and carp. Welcome you to Beijing, in fact, ahthough this game is also popular here, the resourse is very poor, you have to make your effort to karas and carp. By the way, barbecue is forbidden in wild area in Beijing. You can dance and drink as your will.

You should post this to the Lure channel, and you know Lure resourse is very poor in beijing, in china. So, a small tournament will be a joke.

Few days ago I saw someone using frog lures. I was wondering if snakeheads exists in Beijing waters. if so, that would be fun too.

Beijing fishing net is a good place to exercise your Chinese, try to communicate in Chinese, and be more integrated into everyone. Of course, it's OK to communicate in English. Welcome friends of Pakistan railway to send some pictures of Pakistani fishing.

Welcome to Beijing.I once worked in Pakistan 20 years ago and I caught big turtles in the Indus River using mutton as Fishbait. There are snakeheads in Beijing. I saw snakehead in the Tongzi River yesterday.

Today I saw a video of monster bighead carp, caught in Mangla Damm in Pakistan. It was around 35 KG. I doesn't know much about bighead carp fishing, but heard that bighead is filter feeder and caught only on surface fishing.
In Beijing I have seen people using floats to catch Bighead carp in Chaobehai river.
Surprisingly in that video, it was caught in deep water.

snailhead exists here, i could give you some advice where you could find them.

Here is the link of 30 KG bighead carp caught few days ago. I am amazed to see that many of them were caught in a same way like common carp. i.e. deep bottom fishing.

Indus rive is heaven for fishing. i had many chinese friends working in Islamabad. Whenever we caught a turtle we always shared with them.
